Monica joined Nicolitz Eye Consultants in 2007. She completed her undergraduate work at the University of Iowa where she received a B.A. degree (with honors) in biology as well as a graduate degree (C.O.) in orthoptics (eye coordination specialist). She then received a B.S. degree in vision science and completed her doctor of optometry degree (also with honors) at Nova Southeast University in South Florida. Monica has participated in new ocular technology research and has also done numerous humanitarian missions to underserved countries including Peru and Ecuador (she speaks fluent Spanish) where she provided thousands of eye examinations and specialized care for eye diseased and glaucoma. At Nicolitz Eye Consultants, she provides general eye examinations and medical eye care; orthoptic care for children and adults; and is an expert in routine and complicated contact lens care. She is now the Director of The Northeast Florida Center for Advanced Dry Eye Care.
